Michael Suksi - President and Chief Executive Officer

Michael SuksiMichael joined DATA in 1985 with a post secondary degree from the University of Toronto and has held progressively more senior sales and marketing positions leading to Vice President of Sales & Marketing. In November 2004, Mr. Suksi left DATA and from then until November 2006, was Vice President, Sales at Transcontinental Inc., one of Canada's largest print and media organizations. In late 2006, Michael returned to DATA as President of DATA East, with a wider perspective of the industry and technology-driven solutions. He immediately began the ultimately successful integration of Relizon Canada Inc. into DATA.

In October 2010, Michael was appointed President and CEO of The DATA Group of Companies.  In February 2011 DATA launched a transformational new strategic profile (view investor presentation).

Paul O' Shea - Chief Financial Officer and Corporate Officer

Paul O'SheaPaul joined the DATA Group in July 1987 as Controller. Since that time, he has held positions with increasing responsibility within the company, now serving as its Chief Financial Officer. Prior to joining DATA, he was Controller in the Financial Post Division Information Services Group, and worked with the internal audit group at Maclean-Hunter Limited. He is a graduate of Ryerson Polytechnical Institute – now Ryerson University – and received his Master of Business Administration from Athabasca University in June 1998. He also holds a Certified Management Accountant designation, received in 1982.

Elaine Deramo - Vice-President, Human Resources

Elaine DeramoElaine is a well-rounded Human Resources generalist with over 30 years’ experience, most of which has involved senior HR roles in the manufacturing industry. Her combined HR expertise and seasoned business acumen have helped support DATA’s growth and improve its organizational performance. She is a graduate of the University of Western Ontario, and holds a Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation from the Human Resources Professionals Association (HRPA). Her experience also includes several years as a professor of human resources at Sheridan College.

Stuart Hendrie - Chief Information Officer

Stuart HendrieStuart’s strategic insight and innovative application of technology have been instrumental in driving numerous process improvements and the development of new products and services at DATA. Leading a staff of 70, he is responsible for IT-related strategy and operations encompassing all divisions of DATA. He joined the company in 1997 and was appointed Chief Information Officer in 2011. Previously, he operated his own multimedia design company, serving clients such as Nortel, AMJ Campbell and EMI Records. He holds a Master of Business Administration from Athabasca University.

Steve Galarneau - President, DATA West

Steve GalarneauSteve joined DATA in 1988 and was appointed President of Western Canada in 1998. In this role he oversees all aspects of DATA’s business in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba. He brings to the organization extensive process, accounting and operational knowledge as well as a thorough understanding of print technologies and the print industry in general. He holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Regina, an Executive Management certificate from the University of Western Ontario, and a Certified Management Accountant designation.

Rick Barron - Vice-President, Sales and Marketing, DATA West

Rick BarronRick has more than 30 years of experience in communications management, entering the industry in 1980 and eventually holding progressively senior sales and marketing roles within DATA. He engineered one of the company’s largest print outsource initiatives, and led the set-up of DATA's first digital print facility in Calgary. Now leading all sales and marketing activities for Western Canada, he is one of the original architects of DATAOnline, which hosts 17,000 users, as well as DATA’s evolving e-commerce and web-to-print solutions. Rick holds a Business Diploma from Red River College and has completed the Executive Marketing Program at Queen’s School of Business.

Diane Schwind - Vice-President, Operations, DATA East and Multiple Pakfold

Diane SchwindDiane is a highly motivated operations professional whose extensive experience has led to improvements at DATA in the form of internal plant efficiencies, streamlined workflows and consolidated facilities. Together these have resulted in more reliable operations, enhanced customer service and higher levels of quality. Joining the company in 1978, she has held progressively senior roles at the company, and currently oversees all operational aspects of DATA East’s rotary plants, warehousing, distribution and logistics centres, strategic sourcing, vendor management, and engineering groups. She holds a post-secondary degree from York University and a Certificate of Operations Management from the Richard Ivey School of Business.

Steve Wittal - Vice-President, Sales and Marketing, DATA East

Steve WittalSteve is a strategic thought leader with more than 20 years of experience in the graphic communications industry. Having spent more than 15 of them with DATA, he leads both the DATA East and FSA sales teams and holds direct responsibility for several of the company’s largest client relationships, including Bank of Montreal and Manulife/John Hancock. He has played a fundamental role in solution development at DATA, and has helped numerous clients adopt greener, leaner communications strategies. A superior communicator and influential manager, he has a demonstrated ability to lead change in a B2B sales environment and deliver proven solutions to clients. He holds a Diploma in Business Administration from the University of Regina.

Tanya Stambolic - Vice-President, Digital and Direct Marketing

Tanya StambolicTanya is a strategic, results-driven, one-to-one marketer with extensive experience in the full spectrum of traditional and online media. Her career spans over 15 years of leading and managing large-scale, award-winning eCRM and DM programs for tier 1 clients, including Sears Canada, Kraft Canada, Visa, Moneris Solutions, Ford, United Health Care and the National Geographic Society. Her experience prior to joining DATA includes seven years at Toronto-based m marketing, and four years at Wunderman Toronto. With an in-depth understanding of digital technologies and demonstrated expertise in integrated, cross-channel marketing, Tanya is passionate about developing customer-centric business strategies that deliver measurable results. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Belgrade.

Alan Roberts - Vice-President, Operations - On Demand Services

Alan RobertsAlan is a highly respected industry leader with an extensive background in digital print, publishing and marketing communications. A digital process pioneer, he has helped lead the migration from traditional offset to digital technologies, building a career that includes high-level positions at The Printing House, Patient News Publishing and Xerox Canada. He has many firsts among his accomplishments, such as implementing the first IGEN in Canada; developing the first print-on-demand go-to-market strategy; creating the first large-scale customer satisfaction program; and providing leadership for the first web-to-print system in North America. He has studied Marketing Management at the Richard Ivey School of Business.

Ian Halliday - Vice- President, Document Process Management

Ian HallidayIan brings to DATA a proven record of success in the technology and professional services sectors. Having gained valuable experience working in progressively senior positions with international exposure, at IBM, Keane Canada, The Innovation Group and ARC Business Solutions, he is skilled at building highly motivated teams that deliver sustainable results. He currently leads the team responsible for the definition, development and execution of DATA’s Document and Business Process Outsourcing offering. He holds a Business Degree and Post-Graduate Diploma in Computer Science from Charles Sturt University in Australia.

Colin McCarten - Vice-president, Strategic Services, DATA WEST

Colin McCartenColin is responsible for marketing support and implementation of DATA’s contracted services, and plays a key role in development of e-commerce solutions, document management tools, and digital marketing services. Coming to DATA from Kodak’s Digital Imaging Division, he has led DATA West’s Strategic Services for the past 12 years, successfully implementing and supporting more than 70 major contracts in Western Canada alone. His team of dedicated Technical Service Analysts works closely with DATA’s account management team — along with other DATA sales resources, IT staff, business analysts, and operations specialists — to ensure all customer objectives are met. He holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Alberta and has completed its Project Management Program. He also has completed the Queen’s School of Business Marketing Program and E-Commerce Development Program.

Kurt MacWilliam - Vice-president, Strategic Services , DATA EAST

Kurt MacWilliamKurt is a strategic operations executive with 27 years' experience driving transformative change in Fortune 500 companies. His accomplishments include building out operations to support 500% business growth; leading major corporate restructurings; implementing leading-edge technology; and leading post-acquisition business integrations. His career includes senior leadership and executive roles at Procter & Gamble, Alliance Data Systems and, most recently, within the medical device manufacturing field. Kurt is a champion of change management, process improvement and innovation, and strives to deliver breakthrough results for clients. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering Science, Chemical Engineering from the University of Western Ontario.
